Good review but can I ask again, would it be possible to update your M4 to the current firmware (c009) ? It just makes it look alot worse in comparison to other drives, for example my 128gb M4 with 009 firmware scores 541MB/s read and 205 MB/s write in atto... that puts much higher in the group and performance is there even at 0.5, scored 44032/36352(write/read) almost double that of the sandisk!.

Other than that though, good review and another SF drive to join the pack

There's one thing I'm finding a little confusing about SSDs at the moment.. Why are 120GB drives better value than 240GB ones?

Is there more to making a 240GB one than just adding more NAND chips?

I didnt even notice that bit , odd that the pricing is substantially more on the 240! It should be the other way round... i know the 512GB M4 was on sale at amazon or something last week for a cheap price of ~ £472 (works out 0.9228125 per gig!) theres also the 128gb at £120 and the 64GB at £68, very cheap £1 mark now!.

Is the Corsair Force GT included within that bracket? If so, I've never had a single problem with this SSD.

It's a shame the M4 was not tested with the latest firmware, which is not 0009, but 0309. For the sake of argument, the bulk of performance improvement came with firmware version 0009 anyway, which has been available since last summer or over 8 long months ago. The thing is this update from 0001 provides massive improvement in the order of 15 to 25%!!! This omission by Hexus is simply inexcusable.

In my book, the top 3 SSD drive manufacturers for overall performance, price AND reliability are Crucial, Intel and Samsung. The fact Samsung was left out is hard to understand for me.

Got one of these on order. After reading many reviews I felt this has struck a good balance of performance with all data types and price for my first SSD. Second choice would have been the M4. Should have it all bedded down nicely in time for Diablo 3.
