one for windows & games, 2nd for temp and paging files, and a couple of platter drives for docs and other programs.
Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack
off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
I use them in all my rigs!
I still have a netbook with a mechanical drive in it but everything else is SSD based (1 Windows laptop, 4 desktop systems, 2 NAS/file server type systems & a MacBook Air.)
I was a fairly early adopter, my first was a Falcon 128 GB SSD, my most recent a 64 gb M4. I don't really notice the speed of them when I'm using them but I really do notice the speed difference when I'm not using them..

No
I simply cant afford/justify one
Yup, would never have a system without one again
Absolutely a convert now with a M4 120 GB SSD and an M3 60 GB in the two main PCs Now thinking a 240 GB might be a good next step in place of one of the older hard drives
I've only just gotten one. Its an OCZ Synapse 128GB Cache drive, I use it with an aging X48 motherboard, but the speed increase even with SATA 2 is brilliant. I wouldn't build a new PC without one now . I probably wont buy a proper SSD until their round 500GB for £200 or so. I want to fit all my programs on one drive, just less hassle and I'm lazy lol.
My MythTV box has one for the OS.
I'd like one in my laptop (which is effectively my main PC) but I have too much stuff on here, so I'd have to go for a hybrid Seagate Momentus XT or something.
Thus far cost and effort have been the prohibiting factors, but the iowait on this machine is awful sometimes, and seeing as it has 8GB RAM, disk is the next (and only) think I can upgrade. It'll happen before long, I reckon
A 64Gb M4 turned my 3 and half year old Q6700 box into a super slick, quick booting box. Wouldn't go without one now. I even persuaded my dad to shell out on one for his new box (a Dell i5 I picked up for £300 from outlet - It boots to fully usable in < 15s).
Although you still need a HDD as a data drive I can see HDD slowly dying - its just a matter of time...
On my 3rd gen of ssd's now.. though after random crashing with my current Agility 3, I'm thinking of jumping off the OCZ bandwagon.. whatever happens, cant go back to normal drives for anything but storage
Alas no. Why?
1. Cost.
2. Reliability concerns with non-Intel drives.
I'd love one around 100-120GB as a boot drive so I could then install a 3TB drive alongside using GPT instead of MFT, but those two issues prevent me from so doing.
No I don't I can't afford one, they are still to expensive for the capacity.
I would love to have one though! Until then I'm stuck with a 200Gb SATAI, and 2x1Tb SATAII Hard drives that squeel, chug, click and grind... but they;ll have to make do!
I snapped up a 128GB M4 ready for my Ivy build. Looking forward to using it after ~7 years on a 120GB 5400RPM HDD! I'll use it for Windows and big games, sticking files and small and not-taxing games on a 2TB HDD
I have one in my main pc and my htpc.
At first I did not notice much improvement on my main pc. After a while, I switched back to the HDD and, oh yes, I noticed the difference immediately.
