Hands up if you read Liquidmetal like Arnie...

T1000?
This looks awesome, looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Sandisk were using Liquidmetal casings years ago.
The problem Apple have is if they change the design too much, they could make it look like an Android phone, or just any other phone for that matter. Just think how many Android phones designs are out there, but yet you can still easily identify an iPhone in a users hand whichever way it is facing.
If I was Apple I wouldn't change the design much, it's a classic look, just try and make it thinner and include a bigger screen and include features like NFC. I'm sure Apple will follow the Porsche Car Design model and just nip and tuck.
There isn't going to be any revolution here in the iPhone 5.
My wife just purchased the HTC One X and it is a fantastic phone, camera especially, the burst mode is terrific and taking photos while simultaneously recording a full HD video is awesome. You can even take photos while playing back any video too, not just those taken with the camera. The phone is so light and thin that her small hands have no trouble with using it, although she now keeps it in her handbag rather than in her pocket.
Forgot to mention liquid metal isn't something new to phone cases, the Android Acer liquid metal got their first which was released in March 2011.
However as those in the know will know that by having a completely metal case will stop the GPS from functioning accurately, if at all.
Hopefully we will see other manufacturers like HTC, Nokia and maybe Samsung use this Liquidmetal case tech in their future phones too.
Liquidmetal is such a hyper-laden marketing term. Its just one type of "scratch resistant alloy", its been around for years, and used in other mp3 players like sandisk e820 several years ago.
Apple paid $10 million for use of it in 2010, and so far have used it for.... the bent paperclip sim removal tool
