I think I, like many (former Nokia fans - I acknowledge the apple and android fans will probably have no interest), quite liked the Lumia. I've been put off getting it purely because buying into one now would tie me in for 18 month. With win8 out in 6 months, there was no official confirmation if the new handsets would be upgraded to win8 on release or left with Mango. As such, I'd rather wait until a win8 version is available than take the chance.
:-(
Grrr at the title mentioning apple for link bait
"Nokia makes more money from patent disputes than phones" doesn't catch as many views...
I think the Lumia handsets look great, if I hadn't just upgraded my handset last September I would be eagerly waiting for the Lumua 900, which has had it's UK launch delayed until 14th May.
Me too - think it looks quite stylish (and I've currently got a Nokia for work and an Android phone for personal use). I noticed that next weeks Gadget Show World Tour seems to be using one. In which case I'll be interested to see how they get on with it (seeing as GS are pretty Apple fan-boyish at times).
I think you're being very unfair, after all the last sentence in the first paragraph says "it has been revealed, by a source at AppleInsider, that Nokia had recently made £370 million from a patent dispute with Apple, a figure which surpasses profits made from sales of the firm's Lumia Windows Phone 7 devices". In which case the headline is merely reflecting that text.
I'm of the same opinion. The hardware also seemed a little dated and lackluster to me, with Windows 8 around the corner they are likely to to Introduce better models to compete with the likes of Galaxy III and HTC's top model. Hopefully they will introduce some good cameras with 1080p and quality lenses with more than 5/8mp stills.
I went for the Nokia N8 which I've been very impressed with. Belle doesnt try to assume anything about you, it just says, here is a tool use it if you want, it doesnt then try to analyse your brain. When you close an application it drops from memory something Andriod drives me up the wall with.
