nope you need either a different chip (AMd compatible with the mobo) or a different motherboard, a socket 370 if its 500-1.3ghz, or socket 478 if its 1.5ghz +

I wondered that too but I was sure there was a celeron out before the slot type processors werent they socket7?

nope, first celeron were slot types, then they changed to socket 370 iirc
