Oh yes because Pirate Bay was the only P2P site offering illegal downloads... Cut of Pirate Bay and all illegal downloads will stop... Complete muppet is Geoff Taylor, BPI chief exec

"general interest for the main site was still up 1,000 per cent from what it was back in April this year"
So basically, they should have left TPB. The lables have probably lost out more by creating this court case rather than just leaving it be.
I also can't help to notice how it is the labels getting uptight about this; they are the ones damaging the progression of British musicians.

"...which was causing particular harm to British musicians and labels" - Because you're such a good guy looking out for poor musicians. Maybe he should be increasing their tiny margins as well.

I liked the way "musicians" has a line through it, nice one

I wonder if the BPI realise that customers of the music industry view labels in a similar manner to the way they view P2P sites.

Music is just a load of crap these days. That is the real reason why people don't buy music BPI

Although slightly off topic, Noxvayl is making the point that modern music - whilst being produce by several people and many writers - is crap compared with Queen written and produced by a single person.

Back to PB blocking - I'm actually surprised that it took as long as it did for traffic levels to return, especially given the publicity BPI spent on this. The kind of folks that use PB a lot would soon get to hear of workarounds, and I'm guessing that because they're using TOR etc it's going to be harder for the BPI "spooks" to track 'em down in future.

Re: News - Pirate Bay Block ineffective, says ISP

What did they expect - the blocking effort was so half-hearted as to be genuinely pointless. I gather you could still reach the Pirate Bay fine if you used OpenDNS, and you could still search for the torrents via Google and then use them just fine. Even a 10 year old could have worked their way around the block.
