I dont know why but when she was walking on the 2002 video it felt more real than the movements in 2012.
Impressive stats and visuals, but I question if it amounts to a better gaming experience?
I still prefer the first Mafia game, for example, it was better in every aspect except the older visuals.
Similarly I still prefer BF1942 over BF3.
The difference is phenomenal. In the original it looks like the forest is made out of lettuce.

2012 Looks very uninteresting to show off modern graphics power.
But to really nit pick, she doesn't even look like she is sat on that vine, her hair looks stupidly soft and bouncy, excessive movement and why they couldn't work on giving her a prettier face instead of making her boobs look stupid big.

I always loved Nvidia's Nalu.
Her hair moves just like real hair doesn't!
This is pretty bad.
It's a great technology demo; but it's still not worth the extra 20% card cost to me. It's going to be years before games have this level of detail.
It's nice to see the concept continued also.
I'm with those not too impressed. Is this what ten years bring us? I'd take Ruby any day.
There are some nice touches - the tessellation on the tree is nice, the ambient occlusion certainly adds some atmosphere even if it's a bit overdone, and the hair.. actually I think it's good - it's obviously over done so you can see it, but it's not a bad effort at all.
However I prefer the AMD Leo demo - it doesn't try to wow you with visual effects, but what's going on is very neat, and quite clearly explained.
I thought it was pretty amazing. The hair is not quite right, but that's more down to the physics parameters (stiffness, etc) than anything else. Regardless of how unrealistic it is in its actual movement, it's the first time I've seen hair like that on a CGI character outside of a Pixar movie. Considering this is real-time rendered, that's very impressive indeed. Shadows are great, the skin is deeply impressive, lighting is great. I can't believe people are so unimpressed! This is real-time rendered!
Also, nothing wrong with how pretty she is, IMO, given the elfin-ness of the character. Obviously the boobs are ridiculous, but what's that got to do with the graphics?
(As an aside, I wonder how many Nvidia meetings there were asking the question: "Should we make the boobs bigger?")
