Should be:...Apple, Microsoft and patent troll, Intellectual Ventures on one side...
If we're going to be honest. IV has nothing on Apple for filing BS patents and lawsuits, and Microsoft had the nerve to threaten just about every company who uses embedded Linux, and gagged them from divulging details of the claim to the public....patent trolls Apple, Microsoft and Intellectual Ventures on one side...
"Intellectual Ventures"
I read that as Intellectual Vultures, dyslexia can sometimes be fun!
The Mrs had a Kodak digital camera once. It wasn't cheap and it broke really quickly. We sent it back to Kodak and it came back worse!
No wonder they're exiting the business.
Hmm - here's hoping that Kodak go with the other group - the non-trollage one - in a fit of pique (or "'f u apple' revenge" if you prefer).with Apple recently suing Kodak and refusing to pay royalties on existing patents
Interesting - to me at least - that the camps seem to be "patent trolls" and "victims of patent trolls". RPX is a company I've not heard of - but a quick Google seems to show them to be some kind of antithesis to IV (spit), a type of company I wasn't aware existed. So, it makes sense - to me at least - for these patents to go to folks who can use them defensively and - heaven forbid - maybe even make the odd product or two using them.
Hmm, think you might have been unlucky - or bought one of the recent models (quality went down hill as the firm struggled). I've got an old one (DX3500 - 2MPix!!) and have had it for years and years - with no real issues. In fact it's just come back from a scout camp in Denmark having been kicking around in my daughter's ruckie. Don't think it's drop proof though.
