The only thing that puts me off buying this, is that jelly bean isn't coming as default on the device.
Why can't Samsung time their new devices to launch with the latest OS aka Jelly Bean.
Ooh, looks nice - so if I want a replacement for my (much liked) Asus Transformer I've now got a choice - Asus Transformer Prime (Infinity) or this.
The TP will be better supported in software (Asus have a good reputation) but I bet there's more accessories available for this new Note.
Why can't a manufacturer make a 14" 1:root2~ tablet if what they're trying to replace is effectively an A4 piece of paper?
This makes me sad
I was intending on buying the transformer infinity, but I am now considering the note, my main gripe with it will be the screen resolution, though if I get the white one it will match my s3 nicely, though my gripe with the infinity is the shell, it get quite grubby looking with fingerprint marks and it has a mono speaker, though I am now starting to lean towards the note as I type this lol
Looks nice. Will the res change if and when Android can be upgraded?
No, the resolution limitation is due to a hardware limitation of the Exynos 4 chip. If the Note 10.1 is successful we'll no doubt see something along the lines of a 1600p version running an Exynos 5 next year, as the chip is about ready for mass-production and Samsung has the intent to match Apple's retina displays.
I'm finding myself very interested by the shape and symbol recognition as a great aide at work. I had planned to wait for Microsoft's Surface Pro, however, if the Note is £450 in the meantime, I may have to take the plunge. There's also the advantage that it's Wacom tech, which has a much higher DPI than the technology Microsoft is employing on the Surface, which appears to use a grid around each subpixel or a micro camera (as the pen seems to require charging).
We've just discovered that eXpansys have this up for pre-order at a very appealing £399.
Was wondering what to get mum for Christmas, sorted.
Samsung's website is stating the ram is only 1gb, I hope this is a typo as the 2gb was one of the things that was peaking my interest over from the transformer infinity...
It looks like it is locked to an american network...
