Do you think the 1.5GHz Dual core will be plenty to run windows 8 smoothly as well as 3D games
If it's enough for Android then it's enough for WP8 I reckon. Some US versions of the Galaxy S3 use a dual core Qualcomm chip (paired with a different network chip to the international Exynos version). Same for HTC One X I think, instead of a Tegra. It's actually faster under some circumstances...
I'm torn between these and the Samsung wp8, I do like the idea of wireless charging
any one know if this has got a micro SD slot, or any memory card slot, thats a big deciding factor for me, althouh ill probably get this anyway for the design XD
Given that WP7 runs fine on lowly single-core hardware, I'd suggest that Microsoft would make sure that WP8 isn't noticeably slower on the same hardware. And given Android runs fine on dual-cores, you can bet that WP8 will too (or else its going to fail - badly). Although I've got to ask - if you're after 3D games why not get a 3DS or Vita?
Very unlikely given that the current Lumia's don't and these "2012" models look to have a similar unibody construction. That said, a lot of folks (and iPhone fans) seem to get on fine without removable memory.
I'm sure I read somewhere that there's a MicroSD card space on the SIM tray. An SD card slot is part of the WP8 spec, so it's likely mandatory (I might be wrong though).
It's not just the handsets IMHO. In Nokia, you get a company that is dedicated to the Windows Phone platform. They've released some very good, exclusive applications for their Windows Phone handsets and they update them frequently. You're not likely to get that from Samsung - they don't make half the effort that Nokia do, even on Android.
I'd probably go for the Nokia handsets over Samsung, just because Nokia seem to offer better exclusive apps. Also it's nice to see a phone that isn't white, black or silver.
Agree that wireless charging is the way forward, providing a standard is agreed upon so that innovative solutions can be manufactured.
For example, being able to have a bedside table that lets you dump your phones onto, plus power your alarm clock and bedside lamp, all drawn from a single point off the ring-main
