£3 per month probably for 100MB or something daft. I can't see them offering a good value service.

From what I read I assumed they meant that the difference could be a mere £3, so a £25 contract on orange 3g could be £28 on EE 4g which aint bad for brand new kit , should be equal in the next year or two then.

Why would they sell you a 4G phone with a 3G SIM though - for the 'upgrade' path to then be available?

I'm on an S3 atm, and i have an Orange sim, but i'm not 100% sure mine has an LTE radio in it (though there is an LTE option in the JB ROM i'm using...).

O/T: Anyone on EE had absolutely pants speeds today?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

You wouldnt have the LTE radio, 99% sure the UK model doesnt have it unfortunately so you wouldnt be able to take advantage of these new speeds (although being a less congested network might make a bigger difference!). You would just swap out your sim though if you had a 4g phone, i think samsung is releasing an LTE variant in the UK soon.

My internet speed hasnt been great on my phone, orange tend to be slower in my experience .

    Thought as much

I usually get fine speed but today its just been terrible - i don't know if its to do with the EE re-branding happening yesterday/today. I just need to know if its a nationwide thing or if my ROM i flashed last night is useless.

It probably them making the service worse so when people do switch to 4g it feels like a night and day difference haha.

Couldnt tell you if its worse though but my internet works so im having a feeling a dodgy flash? Maybe make a nandroid and try a different rom if it makes no difference then just go back .

Re: News - EE 4G LTE to launch October 30th

    Alistair,
Your comment states that the Note 2 is already available as a 4G device.
The Everythingeverywhere.com newsroom states that the Note 2 LTE comes out on the 15th October.
    http://everythingeverywhere.com/2012/10/03/ee%E2%80%99s-4g-ready-smartphones-go-on-sale-today/
I've checked t-mobile and the orange websites for 4G phones - both have Samsung Galaxy s3 LTEs on offer and orange also has the HTC One XL LTE and Huawei Ascend P1 LTE.
Neither orange or t-mobile appear to even be selling the Note 2 - which makes sense to me, as why would they sell 3G only phones a few weeks before the launch of a 4G network?
Unfortunately for me phones4u sold me a complicated deal on Monday where I bought 2 phones - one being a Note 2, on the premise that Note 2 was 4G compatible - I am having difficulties persuading them they are incorrect in their continued assertion that it is a 4G phone and they are now telling me that I would have to upgrade my tariff when 4G comes on - something else not agreed to. Normally would be simple that I would cancel and send phones back, but the complex bones around the deal involved cashbacks for me to buy out my Virgin Mobile contract - already done - so I'm out of pocket for now - see what they say later

Anyway, just wanted to advise people that there are variations on some 4G facts and to be careful about what they sign up to.
    Cheers

Re: News - EE 4G LTE to launch October 30th

P4U called me back and promise that the phone is 4G compatible.
They are even going to change their website to state this (currently only mentions 3G).
If it turns out that it is not really 4G then I can return the phohe - but only so long as I don't damage the phone - I hope fate is not reading this post.
And tariff will automatically be upgraded to 4G, free of charge, as and when (end of Octoberish).
I hadn't realised that when you buy from a company like P4U that the handset is supplied by them and not the provider that you are getting the tariff with - so they are not merely a portal. So, if they are correct in their 4G assertion, then P4U are getting the phones earlier than anyone else in the UK - well done them!
Quite uneasy about the whole thing, but as I am £279 out of pocket and need to sell my Galaxy s2 to help cover the contract buy out, I will chance it.
And just to help my headache, I got a call from home to tell me that another package has been delivered - a halogen oven - shame that I ordered a hand food mixer.
Looking forward to pouring some Stella on my stress fire tonight

is that S3 LTE the `full fat` version with quad core and LTE , or the `USA LITE` version with dual core and LTE?
