Let's hope a week long battery life comes a mainstream marketing tool!
as said I think most manufacturers want to push 1 whole day at breakneck speed...
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
Unfortunately true. But it seems like smartphone manufacturers routinely aim for about a single day use battery capacity.
This is what worries me most about the trend of smartphone manufacturers building phones with non-replaceable batteries, i use my phone more heavily than most and in low-signal areas, so i'd end up with a phone that barely lasts half a day*
*currently have an oversized 228% capacity battery for my HTC Desire, but still rarely manage more than a days battery life with my usage, hehe
Extra battery that connects and charges when you are on the go?
Manufacturers will continue to design their mainstream phone for mainstream customers. with increases in efficiency i'm sure there will be scope to have batteries that will last a week, lets face it many would gladly have this functionality in a handset that weighs the same and is the same size as the ones today. So I'm sure those phones will exist at some point. But the average person won't need that, so why bother spending more on battery capacity that isn't needed? or sacrificing other design parameters for the same thing?
