So what they're saying is that the game is pretty crap, so we bundled a cool remote control plane to take your mind off it?....

    No, they are actually saying:

"Our game is pretty crap and we want to charge you 3x the price of the normal retail edition, so we bundled a cool remote plane to take your mind off it"

The remote control plane would only be useful to a five year old.

Looks like they finally understand the typical age of the person who would buy the game.

Buy this pile of garbage and get a free plane. Hurry while stocks burn in the dust.

Good question! I've played all the previous editions, and found them to be good fun, especially on co-op. There have been some quite glaring bugs in a few of the games, but then that's true of a lot of games these days...

I'm with you - the presence of this "special edition" signals the usual publishers "squeeze the suckers for every red cent" rather than any kind of "this is crap, but look at the nice shiny shiny" slight of hand.

The last one of these toy-laden special editions was the Halo 3 one with the MC helmet model. After that debacle (even Gamestation refuse to accept this as trade in, so it's gathering dust unless I can find a charity shop to take it), I decided to stick to "special editions" that only included DLC, or just buy the normal version and save some money (although quite a lot of sellers bundle in extra content for pre-orders, which makes the SE versions even worse value for money).

I've still got an unopened copy of the last Splinter Cell (for Xbox) so I'll be letting this 'special offer' pass me by.

Probably because none of the sequals were as good as the original and quality seems to have dropped with each release I guess.

Cool special edition pack - just wish it came with Black Ops II rather than yet another splinter cell.

The other annoyance is that its yet another US exclusive - I really wanted the Dead Space 3 CE but again..US only It's frustrating!
