There's little point in considering this card, or multiple cards, if you game at 1,920x1,080. This is the sort of hardware that's begging to be attached to a premium 4K display.

And this is where you can trump other outlets. See how far you can go with downsampling in the Nvidia control panel and chuck in some results?

I can't wait to see someone get hold of one of these alongside one of those Korean monitors that can be OC'd. One step closer to having a 27" 2560x1440 monitor @120Hz? Wishful thinking perhaps

in compute heavy apps or games then more cores will help ; otherwise and quite bluntly , where raw mhz are wanted the lower clocks wont help at all.

in fact could even envisage a highly clocked 7870 matching it (as they can a gtx 680) in certain older games.

hmm would seem im a little enthusiastic in that supposition.... (although tpu shows the 7870 ahead of the gtx 680 in battleforge , that is the only 1 i can find....)

As you’ll soon see, the combination generally falls between a GeForce GTX 690 and Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition in our benchmarks. That means:

Pay the same $1,000 for a GeForce GTX 690 if you only want one dual-slot card and your case accommodates the long board. It remains the fastest graphics solution we’ve ever tested, so there's no real reason not to favor it over Titan.
The Titan isn’t worth $600 more than a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. Two of AMD’s cards are going to be faster and cost less. Of course, they’re also distractingly loud when you hit them with a demanding load. Make sure you have room for two dual-slot cards with one vacant space between them. Typically, I frown on such inelegance, but more speed for $200 less could be worth the trade-off in a roomy case.
Buy a GeForce GTX Titan when you want the fastest gaming experience possible from a mini-ITX machine like Falcon Northwest’s Tiki or iBuyPower’s Revolt. A 690 isn’t practical due to its length, power requirements, and axial-flow fan.
Buy a GeForce GTX Titan if you have a trio of 1920x1080/2560x1440/2560x1600 screens and fully intend to use two or three cards in SLI. In the most demanding titles, two GK110s scale much more linearly than four GK104s (dual GeForce GTX 690s). Three Titan cards are just Ludicrous Gibs!

A 680 definitely isn't up to the task of 1440p+ in the same way it is at 1080p. It would be borderline ridiculous to test these at 1080p as its essentially 670 4GB in SLI - we already know how well they perform at 1080p.

Regardless of how good this is it's going to look shocking value compared to Dual 7970 GHz Editions + Never Settle Reloaded.
