Not convinced that the "huge area of ocean to explore" is necessarily a good thing, since it reminded me of:The game environment is said to be “massive” and spans 50 locations including “three sprawling cities, and a huge area of ocean to explore” reports Eurogamer.
That is, if I get this am I going to spend (/waste) minutes just wandering around aimlessly? Plus, and fellow AC fans will confirm/deny this, I can't see how the AC mechanic of sneaking around and "taking out" targets without detection is going to work for a pirate. After all - I don't remember a "brace o' buckshot" or a "broadside me 'earties" being particularly stealthy. As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.
I wasn't keen on the switch to the US, and this one looks even less likely to appeal to me.
Of course, if they can get Tom Baker to do 'is Capn Redbeard Rum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EfW9znJYjw) then it'd be worth it just for that!

I guess it might be like in the first AC, where the first time you go into the desert, you have to walk your horse all the way, but every time after that you just go to 'out of town' and then pick a point on a map, and get transported there...

I want a game where I can play a Templar, Haytham Kenway was a pretty cool character. Connor was about as interesting as a wet card board box.
I hope they go back to their roots with this game, AC3 was completely lost on me. I loved the first 4 games though.
I really enjoyed the naval parts of the last game, but have to agree with everyone that on land it's gotten to action oriented rather than stealth. Really breaks the immersion when the game forces you to run from a big group of enemies on the basis that you're a stealthy assassin and you're thinking, nah I could take them all, killed twice that many on my way to the shop.

Looks like it could be fun as I really enjoyed the naval missions in AC3. Saying that I had really hoped for a samurai themed new creed game, the premise would work so well with this game and it would really bring a much needed stealthy impact once more.

I only hope they fix the series. AC3 was a pile of horse ****. AC2 Rev was fairly terrible. Brotherhood had it right. They need to significantly reinforce stealth, put greater punishments for open fights, and, most notably, obliterate those wretched walking segments!!!

AC3 was a pile of rubbish. Connor was an utter FAIL.

I also really enjoyed the naval battles/ missions in AC3. But I do feel that they are starting to stray away from the first AC games which were just amazing!! Also how are you meant to climb buildings, which has been a feature that AC is famous for as well as used throughout all of the games. The impression I get from it being a pirate game that you will spend most of your time on a boat.
I'm going to disagree (slightly) I actually thought that Revolutions "flowed" a bit better, and I felt it was possibly a bit more "hands off" than Brotherhood, which slotted in neatly with Ezio being older.
I refused to buy AC3, mainly because the storyline didn't really grab me. But I got it for Christmas, so I feel obligated to give it a go. I've only played through to the initial stages and so far I'm not impressed - it just doesn't have the dynamics of the Ezio trilogy, felt more like a point-and-click adventure at some points, or a poor copy of Tomb Raider.
If AC4 does go with the pirate meme then I'll be avoiding it.
Sorry to say, but i start bored to play Assasins Creed series.. =( i hope the black flag more than just "Assasins Creed"
