Coupled with there complete lack of android support i'll be dropping my lovefilm subscription then. 75% of my rentals are games.
The xbox one was going to go against rental games but they've back tracked on that one now.
Funny thing is they tried to get me to change my login to an amazon login a few days ago, I haven't done it yet but bet they put a new tos with it
Funnily enough, the Lovefilm streaming app works on the Android-based Amazon Kindle fire, but not on proper Android yet. Amazon holding it back?
I had an email a few days ago saying they are killing the pay as you go option as well. I think I'll be running down my remaining pre-paid rentals and then cancelling.
I changed mine a few weeks ago and there weren't any new terms to accept. I've come across a few account details which don't display correctly after this change though (which they've admitted are known bugs). Minor but still irritating.
They are also now offering a PRIME / LoveFilm bundle for £79.99 a year which I was tempted to go for as I already pay £49 for PRIME however now I don't think its worth it.
Plus their applications (or lack of) are terrible.

did anyone actually use this to rent games?
Maybe looking at moving to a cloud-based solution?
Or going the way of the dodo?
Seems crazy to slim down the amount of content you have for rental in this day and age...

I think a lot of people might drop their service - I don't use it personally but I know a few people who use it almost exclusively for the game rentals.
That sucks :S - Renting games was beyond awesome, I paid roughly £50 for 9 months or so of lovefilm (5 months were free due to 3 month trial + 3 months for price of 1) - and played maybe more than 15 games, some of which at release, which is a pretty sweet deal, especially when you can rent out just during holiday for just a month and clock a few games for less than the price of just 1. Renting films with it was also good, given blu ray too.
Will be canceling the service I guess :/ Also know of a few people using it for just games.
Just got an e-mail from them to say that games are no longer for rental and my account will be converted in a months time and that it would save me a whole £1 a month.
They got a mail back (through there website) canceling my account, I have used the rental service to play games I would of never wasted my money on (and most of them were pretty rubbish like fast & furious) and also to play big name games early on without shelling out £40 for them (grid 2)
The games service does not affect me but think it is a poor move, I expect its a sign of changes to come from the lord high and mighty Amazon.
If they drop rentals altogether then I will definitely cancel. Their streaming service is poor to say the least. I will go back to my old system of waiting 'til the film drops in price and get it cheaply on DVD or Bluray.
I had only just signed up about 2 months ago again as hadn't realized they had a game only service they didn't originally. all in all I payed £5 rented a couple of games and ended up with a £20 amazon voucher can't really complain. Shame they are not many offer competitive game rental services
