I might try and get the local Cat interested, but I don't think retailers allow payment in Cat fluff.

Who would buy a large and well spec'd phone?

As for the tablet dock, I know everything is in the cloud but things are easier with just one device.

I love the idea and would jump on it if it was a Nexus device and at a price I could afford.

Some folks - okay once you add the price of the tablet/dock on then it's a bit on the pricey side - but still less than an iPhone and (arguably?) more flexible. Based on what I've seen Asus don't tend to screw around with the OS too much, (no Sense/TouchWiz/UXP/etc), so if you want that stock experience then you're in luck.

uSD slot and a 32GB is a pretty sweet deal in my book. Heck a 16GB with that uSD slot would suit me fine. Remember that if you've got the phone docked into the tablet, then the tablet gets to use the phones 3G or LTE connection without tethering. So if you figure on £550 for a 4G/3G/Wifi tablet that can also double as a phone then surely this looks like a reasonable deal (although too rich for my pocket).

Only problems are the cost (although probably reasonable v's an iPhone) and that you can't get any of the "essential" accessories like car docks, covers, etc except from Asus (with a few exceptions).

Interesting idea. A bit too much £££ for me but I like the no-tethering tablet concept.

MicroSD is a definite plus in my book, but I am not sure if I am willing to trade the other positive aspects over losing a removable battery (assuming it is fixed) on the Galaxy (I really like the ZeroLemon on my S3).

Asus decided to drop the battery/ports/dock combo that they did on PF1 as apparently there wasn't sufficient demand from us consumers. Although, imho Mr Asus, the pricing probably had a lot to do with that - once you'd got the phone (not cheap) and tablet dock (same price as a low end phone) and then added the cost of the keyboard (which was about the price of the other dock) then it's was a heck lot more than an iPhone and verging on the cost of a very decent ultrabook.

So if you want a keyboard for this, then you're back with the herd and having to use a bluetooth one. Only plus point of that I guess is that at least you can use it with phone alone or phone-in-tablet.
