Is it wrong that I'm looking at these and wanting to make a (reverse) hackintosh by installing a different OS? If it weren't for the price markup, I'd be sorely tempted.

Well it's still good for the business, though Apple is tending to lean further for gaming since Steam made Mac gaming popular now.

Apple fully supports Windows 7/8 and all drivers are included on the OSX disk - no hacking involved!

Boot Camp software built into OSX will partition the drive and get Windows installed. From then on you need to run one .exe to get all drivers installed. Dual boot is dead easy as well - from Windows point of view you get little tray icon allowing you to switch to OSX and from OSX its just a matter of changing the startup disk in Preferences. Once booted to one OS it will carry on booting to that OS until you decide to change - you won't get any dual boot screens etc. If you need that then you can press and hold certain key on the keyboard once you power the machine on (can't remember which one)

There is actually a lot of things built in / supported in OSX from Windows perspective - I was actually quite surprised when I had to install Windows on my missus Mac so she could play 'Windows' games.

I agree with Tpyo it is very easy to get up an running on Windows on Mac. I have been telling that to my windows friends for sometime. It's the details that makes Mac's great. They often have strong wifi cards, good displays, good keyboards, trackpads, and most Macbooks have 16:10 aspect ratio making them ideal for working and not just playing. I wouldn't be shocked if people used Windows exclusively on a mac. It's your machine do what you want.

while its easy to install windows on iMac and run games - remember iMacs are basically laptop computers with big screens and a desktop cpu. Basically meaning with very limited room / power, for prolong gaming the iMac platform will tend to overheat.
