Mine, more like - or at least it would be if they did an x86 version. If I'm going to have a Windows tablet I'd like one that can run all my legacy programs.
But a 4:3 8inch Windows tablet - particularly with a decent resolution like that - pretty much ticks the boxes for me
It's almost as if they listened to me..... Now if they could just sort out why my MSDN subscription is currently only a professional rather than an ultimate!
Seriously, I'll probably end up buying two if they make this right.

If its an x86 processor then I'm on this!
I hope it won't be.
If you want an x86 device, there are already a couple out there, using the Atom CPUs.
I want this to have a really decent batterylife!

The story even says it's a Win RT/ARM device
It's the form factor I'm more interested in. If MS make a device with a 4:3 screen it'll hopefully push other manufacturers down that route too...
Well, not much competition in the sub 10" sector at all with win 8. Perhaps this is where RT could shine?
Despite not liking RT, I can potentially see them making a market for it in form factors that small because full Windows would just be way too cramped to use, rendering it a permanent secondary feature and putting less attention on the lack of legacy support
You see, for me it's the other way round. If I'm going to have Windows on a portable device anyway, I'd rather have the full functionality, and be able to choose how I use it: all you need are the right accessories and you can get the full PC experience when you need it, while having the tablet experience when you're on the move. I shouldn't need to have a separate device for each of my usage scenarios: I should have one device that can adapt to the situation I'm in.
Oh, and MS need to sort out having access to ModernUI Internet Explorer when you have a different browser set as the default. It can't be that hard, seriously...
New Asus 7 launched, Tesco Hudl due soon, Amazon Kindle HD range due soon - all launched before the Christmas holiday season and Microsoft is going for a launch after Christmas - well done
Think I will just stick to the larger version (Surface 2).
Don't tell me MS saw the light at last and now knows tablets should be 4:3?
