I thought the R9 290 was up against the GTX780. All these leaks seem to be AMD PR, can't wait for the NDA to lift but then we will still need to wait for the API dust info to settle before we can see the true landscape. All this smoke and mirrors is just frustrating and to me is just a shameless attempt to distract from the re-branding of the lesser parts.
Can Hexus please in the future offer a performance summary of where all the new range cards from both companies stack up, using say a 760 as the base mark 100%.
Looks like it's going to stomp over everything then...lol
Unleash the beast !
Looks tasty... Cant wait for the full reviews!
I know there isn't a huge difference between the 780 and the Titan, but I want a direct comparison between the Titan and the R9 290x
Are these game's AMD Optimised ? Also all these 4k res mean nothing to me & won't for a long time... Its going to be better as it has an extra 1GB of vram !
As someone said, I'll be glad when the smoke's gone & we can see for ourselves.
I am interested in the clock speed and would like to see identical speeds set on each card.
There is quite a difference at 4k ...
It was shown in the 280 review's that the new design's loose less performance at higher resolutions which will play into the hands of the 290 even more with it's extra memory b/w.
I would suspect it's advantage is less at the more everyday resolutions against the 780 and could be behind the titan.
Nvidia are playing amd a lot like intel do these days, just do enough to stay ahead each time amd responds.
I doubt it will be long before nvidia release a 780ti or something that redresses the balance. or even a titan mk2
Edit - Just read that today nvidia have released the 780ti!

I hope we also get to see the 770ti and the Titan Ultra, but until the 290 & 290x are out the closet I wouldn't expect any news until Nvidia can test out the competition. I was actually worried that the game bundle was the big news. All we need now is a good old price war to start, well once the cards are available that is.
AMD better take care of the heating problem. Other than that all is good.
well I'm happy AMD is getting back to the game. I think they just have to improve on their cooling designs vs. NVIDIA cards
No indication as far as I can see what exactly the specs were on the gtx; was it the best available, or something they could use to get people talking?
I guess we'll see when reviews start appearing.
I wonder how it will compare to the 780ti now that its been announced.
