Re: News - Microsoft results show revenue is down but profits are up

Now windows 8.1 is out I find myself regretful that I never purchased win8 when it was on offer.

The sort of monies these guys bring in, makes me disappointed that the OS prices remain so high, especially at a time when the alternatives are gaining a lot of strength and developer support in the market place.

As for office365, sure I use MS Office for work, because that's what they give me, but I now use libre office at home and was happy to donate to their cause.

Why do you say revenue is down, when it's the highest its ever been:

It's as if there is a pattern in the Q1 revenue figures!

Re: News - Microsoft results show revenue is down but profits are up

I'll probably be sticking Windows Phone myself, though I cannot see myself upgrading before 2015. I'm might be getting a new desktop system next year with Windows inevitably. I think the only week link in the chain maybe the XBO.. but even with that MS might have a few surprises still to come and so as long as the XBO makes a profit then it is a worth while venture. I think MS can still do very well in a nutshell.
