I want a minority report type giant computer screen, hopefully this will bring this closer to fruition. Although it's a shame that Apple has bought this as I'm still unlikely to buy any Apple product with their overinflated prices.

Nor I, so hopefully other technologies that do the same thing will be rife in a world outside of the Apple Ecosystem.

Re: News - Kinect developer acquisition by Apple is almost complete

The technology is rife outside of the Apple Ecosystem. M$ Kinetic which came from the same company and Leap Motion are two, and the off screen gesture support on phones.

Apple will probably by the first to bring it in a unified way to the desktop. It's a shame M$ didn't do more with Windows 8 on this front, touchscreen computing is fine for tablets, ok for laptops, but poor for desktops given the distance the user is generally from the screen.

you dont think samsung will sue them back since they've already shipped a phone with off screen gestures.

wait, those two are already in bed (and court) together.

Apple would probably try to charge me to use my own kinect sensor.

That's not new and there are already products that do that on the market. Very "dope".
