Don't get me wrong - I like silent graphics cards. Just wish they'd do a passive one closer to R260X specs.

Its the problem of mismatched shader types and shader number.

Hopefully,Kaveri with 512 GCN shaders should do better.

it's a real shame than AMD upped the TDP on the Bonaire GPU so much when rebranding the 7790 to the R7 260 as it would have made a brilliant passively cooled card at 85W.

Still, I think that a 7770 equivalent with passive cooling is pretty nice.

XFX have really upped the aesthetics of their cards recently I love their new style just wonder if they are still really noisy and bad at cooling my 6850 was unbearably noisy even with a headset on while gaming.

Last year I managed to be in a position where I had a chance to buy HD7770, HD7790 and HD7850, some with one fan others with two.
Only one I could consider loud and that was the HD7770 with one fan after overclocking (50% fan speed).

Above 86w. I run a Radeon 5750 (86w TDP) with an Accelero S1 entirely passive at stock clocks in a fanless case with no crashes in games. I was holding out to upgrade to a passive R7 2xx card but I don't think it is going to happen unless I underclock a 260x. I think I might go back to plan B which is get a 7770 and transfer the Accelero onto it.
