The Obsidian 250D is not that small for a mini-ITX case.
I'm not sure about the 250D, it's too big to go on top of my desk and too small to go underneath.
I can't see that you could put this case anywhere you couldn't put a 350D and the larger case is just so much more flexible.
Na pretty chunky aint it, quite nice though. I suppose its closest competition (excluding lian li) with regards to being a high performance mini ITX would be the Bitfenix Prodigy, which it is actually smaller than.
290 x 277 x 351.2mm (Corsair)
vs
250 x 404 x 359mm (Bitfenix)
Although that does include the handles on the Bitfenix.
Looking forwards to reviews on that one.
The new graphite cases look like a decent upgrade over the 600T aswell, very good looking cases IMO.
Like others, I'm not sold on the 250D. I'm still leaning towards the EVGA Hadron. I prefer the tiny tower approach, but I wouldn't mind if it bulked out a little to fit in an ATX PSU down the bottom and a rear 120mm fan.
Once again, an mITX case bigger than my Antec Aria. I find it utterly boggling.
I reckon Corsair just want to sell more H100s, the cases are just a means to an end!
that 250D with http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=QOOe9PUyICk in it? would be nice
And i still have an antec aria... sadly the psu is dead now and while its a lovely case... its nonstandard psu fit means i cant reuse it. :|
Its (250D) to wide, between 220mm - 250mm is as big as a case like this should be. Looks well made though and nicely understated with ports and switches on the front and a 5.25" drive bay.
You can buy replacement PSUs but they're a bit pricey, or it's a really easy mod to fit a 1u flex ATX PSU into the case. I might still have some piccies around from when I did mine, will have a dig
EDIT: can't find any pictures from when I was doing the mod, but here's one that shows the way I've reused the PSU housing to hold the 1u PSU (it fits so well that I'd be amazed if it didn't use a 1u design internally anyway):
Took minimal cutting/drilling; the fit of the wires is quite snug against the side panel, but with a little care it all squeezes in fine

I can kind of see the appeal, an antec aria can't take a huge long triple slot gpu, 240mm rad and a standard psu either.
Does anyone know if the 730/760 actually have 4 rad mounts, or are they the typical, you can get 120mm rads, so the 120mm exhaust is a rad mount type of solution? I really want a new case (more for looks as mine is getting on ten years old and starting to get a bit scuffed) but 2&360mm rads (and preferably bigger) is a minimum requirement. and I really can't justify enthoo primo prices.
The 250D does look an intresting design on the new wave of SFF cases coming out at the moment, I liked that someone also compared it to the Bitfenix SFF Cases. The Bitfenix Prodigy case is one many have seen and fallen inlove with due to its color options and custom looks. Though one thing is certain Corsair always do well when it comes to case design. i have yet to see a Corsair case that doesnt have the usual bells and whistles in regards airflow, cable management and build quality.
I have thought about building a SFF for a few months now, the case being the most important part for me.
I want it to look nice where ever i place it and have the option to handle pretty much anything you throw at it. The 250D meets all the requirements.. Its a worthty contender to join the ranks of SFF cases on the market currently. As for making it a steambox... I will stick to solid pc gaming
the 250D like the rest of the obsidian range, looks hot!! i might consider going SFF from midtower
