    Re: MaverickWill: No surprises there.

to get to over 100k, there must ahve been anothe rhigh bidder. I'm (almost) certain this will turn out to be fraudulent/withdrawn too. I'd be interested to hear what it actually goes for in the end.

No doubt about it. Gold cartridges in much better condition have gone for a fifth of the price.

The "winning" bidder claims their two-year-old made the bid by mistake. Sure...

I'm still disappointed that this article went up as "game sells" as opposed to "auction ends at", though. Destructoid et al had published the update regarding the retraction as of last night UK time. A quick bit of Google-fu before hitting publish would have made all the difference.

Excellent 80s retro family pic there. Remember that pic being on the back of my NES box, way back when.

The overly enthusiastic Dad, the often surprised looking Mother (both of which probably bought the thing so you'd disappear to your room and leave them in peace. The lads looking incredibly happy about playing the game even though there is just the one playable character on screen. In fact, they even appear to have taken the game out and it still playing. Impressive.

And their gun is grey. Why did I get a silly orange one?

    Good memories...

That's impressive. And I have difficulty getting my Dreamcast game collection up.

I'd love an After burner R360 machine, although it would pretty much fill my back yard.

I think the only way I'd get one though is actually build one!

What a joke!!! I saw a MINT copy of both the GOLD and regular get sold on Pawn Stars for a hell of a lot less. Looking at that cartridge, the buyers must have been either desperate or really really wanted the copy.
