Won't Nvidia be releasing the TegraK1-based next-gen Shield pretty soon?

Perhaps ASUS have got a very good deal on excess Tegra4 stock for a cut price alternative rather than true rival.

Cool, this is exactly what Nvidia wants, they don't really want to be the guys making all of the consoles they just wanted to kick start the market and it looks like it may actually take off. (This of course is just my opinion.)

Silly question, perhaps, but could that display resolution not correspond to a connected TV?

720p? Unless - like Michael H's comment - Asus managed to get a sweet deal on some low-res panels.

I only really casual game on Android, for which my current gear is good enough, so I'm probably not going to be a customer. On the other hand if Asus drop the "Gamebox" label and rebadge it as the "Asus Loki" then I might be tempted.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

Too many Android gaming consoles fighting it out between themselves surely can't be a good thing ??
