Are they going to bring Dixons groups legendary customer service combined with Carphone Warehouses skilled impartial sales advice?

Don't think I could have put it better myself. Neither are appealing currently - Haven't seen a good deal in either for a long time.

Re: News - Dixons and Carphone Warehouse in merger talks

I like the big Currys/PCWorld stores. Good places to wonder around looking at all kinds of things while killing time in a large retail park. With this I would also be able to look at a decent selection of phones too. Great!

Doesn't mean I'm going to actually buy anything though.

All those staff poking fun at Dixon's staff and the other way round will not be happy. Wonder if Charles Dunstable will have anything to do with it. If you have a look at the structure of CPW at there H/O I wonder how many will keep there jobs.

Hope you don't have to return your phone to "The Tech Guys" if it goes wrong, you won't see it again for several months and then it will return with more problems than it went in for!

Re: News - Dixons and Carphone Warehouse in merger talks

Interest considering once the DS Group owned ' The Link ' mobile phone outlet and then once this was closed down, moved phones into PC World stores and then this stopped.

Seems like DSG have had a slight upturn in sales and suddenly they are ready to over stretch themselves again.

All fun and time killing, Right up to the point that you stop and look at something for more than 2 seconds, And get some slimy salesman all over you like a bad rash,
And then be made to feel like your some thieving scumbags with the looks you get from the security guards cos you had the audacity to go in there alone, And not buy anything.
I know jobs are involved, But the DSG retail group are the only ones I would like see go to the wall, At least you know more innocent customers wouldn't be fleeced out of 60 quid, Or whatever they thought they could get away with at the time, For a HDMI or Optical cable.
