It seems XP had a great run so far, sad to hear its end but knowing it to be the only OS that Microsoft gave support so far over the years, So Farewell Windows XP .
after more than 1 YEAR, they "make the UI more familiar and more convenient for users with mouse/keyboard"... I should have known better, no windows OS is good to use unless it has 2 SP under its belt.
Please include a facility so the colour of the Metro tiles can be changed. I have one w8.1 machine and the upgrade (a) reset the keyboard to US Keyboard (a known rare issue) making it impossible to correct type in the password, (b) reset the background to dayglo orange (easy to fix) and (c) changed all the colours of the metro tiles from muted blues and similar to dayglo colours. (impossible to fix).
As a result I have not upgraded my other w8 machine yet
hmmm, connected standby for bay trail devices running 64bit windows.
can i have a 4GB Bay trail tablet on 9th April, please?
5820k / 16GB DDR4 2400 / MSI X99 SLI Plus / Asus Strix Vega64 / AOC 32"
I'll give it another go, but the last time i tried it on my dev system it only lasted about an hour before I put win7 back on.
Depending on whats updated/added i might actually try win 8 again, hopefully there are no weird game compatibility issues.
Being able to change the Metro tiles would be a godsend. I currently use OblyTile to do it, but it can be a bit clunky.
Whats betting they will call it Windows 8.11 for workgroups?
anyone tried to forget a wireless network on 8.1 yet? You know when someone handily changes the wifi password but your computer remembers the SSID and therefore won't connect.
on Win 8 you right click the network and select forget, on 8.1 ummm, command prompt and whole host of silly stuff.
not good, at all.
