I imagine we'll be seeing Asus following suit very shortly. 5..4...
FYI, The R9-270X isn't a CPUTurning to graphics cards, the R9 290X LIGHTNING, R9 280X GAMING 6G, R9 280 GAMING and the upcoming R9 270X GAMING ITX will be showcased at CeBIT. As you might expect from the name, the R9 270X GAMING ITX puts AMD's mid-range CPU into a mini-ITX form factor card.
Cool article though, the Ghost sounds interesting. I will have to read some reviews on that.

I'm probably being really stupid here, but can anyone explain what's going on with the Nvidia 800 series? I'm puzzled!
We've now heard of the release and imminent releases of what seems to be a complete line-up of 800M cards, from 850M-880M. Yet for some reason, the first desktop card on the new Nvidia Maxwell GPU seems to be the 750Ti, and I've still heard nothing about a full 800 series with Maxwells except that they are coming.
Does this mean the desktop 800s are being written off somewhat as a stepping stone generation before something major happens with 900s, during which period most of us will buy 770-780s at reduced cost, or are the Maxwells going to be big news after all?
Honestly I don't quite know what's going on, but the laptop arena being one where power and heat are more important than a desktop, I can definitely see why nvidia are launching those first. Typically laptops with GPUs sell in lower volumes and across the entire chip range so if they're having troubles with scaling up production it's a sensible place to start.
