I watched the trailer for this a couple of days ago.....
I must say, the nostalgia grabbed me for a moment and then I looked at the gameplay.....which is pretty much the same as the ancient original

I didn't mind the original, always enjoyed it down the arcade. Will definitely look into this one, will depend on the pricing.
Seems to be thing lately with older games coming back, the original Battle Chess has just popped up with re-vamped graphics on Steam I saw yesterday.

And that's a bad thing how? This is exactly what Gauntlet should be. Legends/Dark Legacy did a good job of keeping the original feel, Seven Sorrows let the series down badly and it's nice to see a new version coming out and getting back to basics. I can see several copies being purchased for my household
Oooooooooh happy days!
Red Elf shot the food!
We still play Dark Legacy at gaming sessions on the gamecube!
Not sure about this - from the quick vid it doesn't look like it's really captured the original feel, but we'll see. Needs to be local co-op though because that's most of the fun
hell yeah bring it on
I think the gameplay of the original still holds up pretty well. The graphics on this look to be a good fit for something that looks to be faster paced than the original but I can't help feeling that it's going to lose something of the tension of not always being certain of what's around the corner - The field of view seems a lot wider in this. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it in Steam though.
Gameplay was fantastic with four people....
Very much looking forward to this. Simple, fast and fun gameplay... although the blood may (from a father's point of view) is a little over the top perhaps.
Excellent. Im glad they seem to have stuck to the original feel. Waiting for pricing announcement now.
