Looks like a 2-slotter.
I wouldn't call it insane but I would question the sanity of anyone buying one

Yeah, this is very much not a consumer product. IIRC you'd actually get better results as a consumer to buy 2 Titan Blacks. It's for super-computing, in rack mounts, not home computers.
And with the completely fair price of $3000 I am of course gonna buy it! Why get 2 Titans or 780Ti's for $1000 less when you can pay more for the same or worse performance? Not to mention AMD...
It is obviously not a consumer product and aimed at 4k video rendering, AI etc but if you had couple these in SLI with 4k surround that would be awesome.
But can it run Minecraft?
Then the 20NM GPUs will be here with it us within a year, making the Titan Z,look rather outdated, especially if the new GPUs are fully DX12 compliant.
as someone who makes use of cuda.... anyone want to give me say around 3k so I can buy one
Realistically though it's just not good financial sense to buy these unless you're a 'business', this is basically a cheap (well relatively) tesla.
5K gaming? ... I haven't even got 4K gaming yet
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.
