1 stick of 128gb of ram, dear god
Would be interested to see how much they cost on release date.
Just wait, these can apparently be expected to be twice as fast as DDR4. That means we're looking potentially at 128GB DDR4 4800MHz memory in the next couple of years...
woohoo....ddr4 could be the start of 32GB (or more) ram on a mitx at a reasonable price.... those 128GB sticks are going to be VERY expensive lol
and so the already high RAM prices start to rise............

DDR4 came out ?
Haold that thought, 128GB stick came out ?
DDR4 for servers is on both AMD and Intel's roadmaps for this year (iirc). All the products mentioned in this article are ECC/FB ECC, so server/workstation grade. Consumer non-ECC DDR4 is still a little way off yet, but once it's shipping in the server market it is just a matter of time before it's pushed into the consumer space. Although I suspect 128GB consumer modules might be a bit further off yet
Bottom line is that the server market tends to focus on capacity while the consumer market tends to focus on speed. I'd be surprised if we didn't see consumer modules at 3200MT/s available pretty much at consumer launch.
does anybody know whether core i5 or i7 support ddr4?
I believe the upcoming Haswell-E will be the first with a DDR4 controller.

Yeah, at first there was news about Broadwell coming out the same time or before Haswell-E then we got news that it didn't and had to be pushed back to either Q4 2014 or Q1 2015.
Secondly, I've read somewhere that Haswell-E may still be compatible with the same 2011 socket(???) but that's another thing altogether. The upcoming Haswell refresh doesn't support DDR4 either.
So I think the best chance of getting DDR4 support might be with Broadwell rather than Haswell-E...But hopefully Haswell-E comes out with it too
Early adopters of DDR4 are going to be spending quite a lot it seems. maybe DDR3 prices might go down finally *sigh*
the good part is that in 2020 we would afford a system based on the 128gb ddr4 4800mhz
