Interesting - I really do hope that it's an RT device, as that would be a good indication that MS intend to keep it alive for now at least (which admittedly is mostly because I own a surface RT hah).
I remain to be convinced that an 8" surface will be useful/successful, but that will largely be price dependent I guess. Curious how it turns out!
The one thing that would ensure it fails would be if they made it from an intel/x86 chip - that would almost guarantee a £400+ price tag, which is just ludicrous for an 8" non 4G tablet imo. Especially when you can get convertibles for £300 now...

If it is RT based, it will need to compete against the price of the Nexus 7 and original iPad Mini.
