So how much does the phone upto spec cost? it isn't cheap is it (I can't chuck my lumia 520 in).

So the cost to rift is similar, yes I suppose if you already have such a phone fair enough but I will just wait for the rift production unit.

More and more phones these days are greater than 4.7". The S5, Samsung's flagship 'mainsteam' phone is over 5". iPhones excluded, probably the majority of new Android phones and perhaps Windows Phones as well sold now will be 4.7"+ and a good proportion of Android phones already are.

To be honest I never want to own a phone that big so I am out.
