Battlefield 3 for free? Dammit! I just paid about 2 quid for it the other day. Waste of good money...
EDIT: Finally got around to watching that video. Have to admit it looks pretty interesting. Couldn't be bothered to watch it originally because I, for some reason or another, misinterpreted "sideways addition" as having something to do with sidescrollers. Silly me...

meh........
Are they sure that this is a Battlefield title - as the storyline above would seem to fit much better in the Need For Speed franchise? "Battlefield" titles - so I'd assumed - were always "US armed forces v's some random baddie". If this IS the story line for the next BF title then I'm going to start looking a lot more favourably on CallOfDuty:Ghosts.Battlefield Hardline comes with the tagline "Fight to serve and protect, or serve yourself." The video, which seems to be intended for an internal viewing only, shows that the game focuses on being a class-based single-player cops vs. robbers themed storytelling experience.
Free BF3 - nice touch if you haven't already got it (which I have). If there's anyone out there who's already played it on XBox and has a PC, then I'd really recommend this offer being worth a punt. BF3 on a PC plays differently, (actually "better" is more accurate) than it's console-based equivalent. I know, I got it on PC and then XBox, and the XBox version is notably inferior.
It looks pretty good especially if they really have put more effort into the single player this time. That was the one thing that put me off BF4, the petite effort put into the single player campaign.
Not really bothered about Battlefield Hardline but yay free game
I stopped buying CoD after MW3 or BlackOps whichever was last. I never actually bought BF4 but had read the reviews saying the campaign wasn't as good as BF3 and I didn't find the BF3 campaign that good anyway.
And I'd probably agree with you on BF4 being better than CoD Ghosts, as the reviews were saying that the BF4 campaign seemed longer compared to CoD Ghosts.
Currently downloading Battlefield 3 plus thank you EA for this I love this "On the House" especially for the old games I can't get nowadays.
I've just been playing the free BF3 on my laptop and I was getting 12-24fps, but still managed to take down a 70 ranked colonel lol. I usually play on the 360.
I guess they at least brought Visceral in.......DICE have kind of marred the franchise for many people with the abortion that was (and in some ways, still is) BF4.

this is not a Battlefield game, and I am a fan since its inception having played every one much more than I should ;-) I dont mean its a crap game but the use of the franchise name makes little sense to me, the usual EA cash-cow approach
As for the negative comments on BF4, I play very regularly with a group of friends who have been playing these over many years, I don't understand the bad rep it gets, it was no worse than previous games, by that I mean beta tested by purchasers as with most BF games but generally a very good game. Why people expect things to be flawless when the variation of used systems for PC they must develop for is staggering is beyond me
They should focus on sorting all the bugs for BF4. Easily the most buggy game I've ever played and I only bought it 3 weeks ago, so expected it all to be sorted!
the police are US armed forces now. Murica!
Got Battlefield 4, skipped Battlefield 3 as I was playing Bad Company 2 alot - So now I will try Battlefield 3 for free, although I doubt I will play much.
