Got this when Google had it on offer for 20p, pretty good keyboard, the new swipe typing isn't amazing though. So how do I get my free themes (that I won't use)?
An email I received from SwiftKey said to go here.
Though you will need a Swiftkey Cloud account to access the Swiftkey store to get your free pack

Personally I think this is a poor idea - since those themes are going to have to be pretty darn good for me to want to splash the cash. And where's the announcement/email - I've had squat from them so far.
Free themes for those of us who actually paid for it (got two licenses - because of having to use two different Google accounts) seems like a pretty nice gesture. Especially as the usual seems to be to go "neah neah, we've got your money now sucker!"
Actually had to disable/remove Swiftkey on my Note 10.1 tablet as part of an investigation why that device has suddenly become so glacially slow for some things. Haven't got to the root cause yet (although Samsung's layered bloatware looks very suspicious) but lord, how I've come to loathe the standard keyboard. Even on the phones smaller screen, Swiftkey just feels, well ... swifter, for the want of a better description.
Personally, rather than just limiting to themes, I'd like to see different packs of features so, for example, if you want to cloud share your dictionary etc with your other devices then you should have to pay for that. And I'm sure that there's other "value added" features that could be offered as options - heck, ask the users for ideas.
Thanks gav, I should have just waited. I got the updated app this morning and the first time I tried to use it, (writing a text), it popped up a dialog asking me to download my complimentary premium theme pack. On the tablet (just reinstalled it) when I enabled it on the Language/Input setting, it dived into the Swiftkey settings and the top item wasAs I'd already downloaded on the phone, I had to download my "purchases" individually on the tablet. Looks better on the tablet for some reason.Claim your free themes
A gift for you, to say thanks for your loyalty
Default theme it picked wasn't the best
This is my go to keyboard and surprised at the decision to go free. I got the free themes about 5 mins ago and some are rather nice.
The big plus for me is the number keys can always be shown above keyboard now.
Seems like an odd choice to go free. I suppose if they feel that they can monetise enough from the store then go for it!
It asked for too much private stuff, wish appz would stop with spying
I think I know what you're referring to - but the access to emails and texts is so that it can build up it's "knowledge base" about the words you use frequently. I remember seeing an FAQ entry about that somewhere.
I'm sure Saracen would say something like "you've got a Google android phone and you're worried about privacy?!"
Actually, joking aside, that's one of my top three objections to Android - that as a user you're not "granting" permissions, you're "accepting" them. If you were granting permissions then you'd be able to (de)select as appropriate. Instead, the app says "I need this" and you get to say whether that set is acceptable or not.
