Good News! I have no doubt that Dovetail will revitalise MFS. I have been a fan for some years of MFS and run it in 3D which just makes it a bit more interesting
This is great news (as another big MSFS fan and aviation enthusiast). After the whole Microsoft Flight farce, this is the right decision to make.
Been thinking on actually getting this for a while now with it supporting the X360 pad, so well worth taking a punt when it lands on Steam, there is something oddly relaxing about sitting in a cockpit taking it all in, same can be said for Euro Truck Sim and Train Simulator.
So its still going to be the poorly optimised pile of meh,its always been.
In other news Laminar Research announced that X-Plane 10 is coming to Steam in the next few days. :-)
Well I believe the next version will be "Flight Simulator 2015: DLC Edition"
You'll get to fly from only a handful of airports around the globe, cannot fly over any location's you do not have the DLC for, and can only fly 2-3 planes with the game as bought.
Every other plane, livery, location etc will be DLC. There will be no provision for user generated planes, liveries, locations ect.
This could end up costing a user Hundreds, easily.
I wonder if the terms of Microsoft licensing the FSX engine to Lockheed for Prepar3d requires Lockheed to feed back any changes for Microsoft to license as part of the FSX engine.
I am ashamed to say I never played Flight Simulator
This is good news, but I am still amazed that it's been what, 10 years since FSX was released and there still hasn't been a better complete flight sim made...especially as FSX had so much wrong with it (I never liked X-Plane).
I still logged 100's of hours though despite the issues; combined with the saitek yolk/rudder/radio panels it was a lot of fun even more so when someone you know builds a "tilting floor" that works with it to provide a more realistic experience There are some great FSX setups out there.

Yes - Good news, it's back.
No - Bad news = Steam, which kills it completely for me. Oh well.
