I had no idea the difference between 0 and 70 was the same as between 70 and 75. Clearly my Maths A-Level was wasted.
Totally overkill for a AIO, one component couldn't even use 25% of its capacity.
There's not even a title on that graph! I remember the days when that would result in a sound thrashing, right after getting out of t'pit after twenteh-six 'ours wi' no lights, no clothes, no food, THEN off t'mill...
Oh, right, where was I? Oh, yes, water-cooling. Ahem...
Kudos to TT for bringing a triple-rad sealed unit to market, but mixed metals are a no for me without some serious warranty backing. Those fan numbers are WELL off, too - 99CFM per fan, for 20dB? Either Thermaltake have surpassed CERN and NASA for engineering, or there's some bold lying going on there.
I'm also wondering who, in this day and age, would have a processor hot enough and a case large enough to support a 3x120 rad, but would go all-in-one versus a custom loop.
It's probably not per fan, more like 33CFM per fan because if it was 99 per fan, you're right, someone has been leaking some very high spec tech and I could see these being bought not for the rad but just for the fans to pinch them
Case? Phanteks Enthoo Pro / Luxe / Primo.
Processor hot enough? anyone who over clocks AND wants to hear above the noise of their pc, so you should be able maintain a healthy overclock at low volume... I'm interested, but other reviews of the Thermaltake Water series seem to say the fans are poor and loud... And I'm also up for the Kraken X61 2 x 140mm
I think pre-built AIOs are a niche market. And when you start making really long, or really think, unit's you are limiting an already small demographics.
I do like to see change occurring I just think these units may be reaching a sort of peak. You pair a good set of pressure optimised fans to this unit and you will get some great temperatures but I don't see what can be done without starting to limit case options. Can't go any longer I think. (Do any cases support 480's in the roof?), perhaps a thicker version of this, but the thicker you go to more likely you are to spoil against a motherboard.
Either way, I await these benchmarks with some interest.
If I'm a system builder having to ship built up cases across the UK - I'd ONLY supply AIO's rather than 1kg unsupported heatsinks straining the mobo... Not niche - after all, how many air cooled cars do you see?
a 360mm radiator is meant for cpu + gpu loops. For the cpu just a single 120mm will do.
