Love the look of the new Surface, screen looks more usable than the one on my SP1.

These are just to expensive for what they are.
    Would like one though.

Yeah, think they would do better if they came with the keyboard. But MS need to do one with an Atom to get the price down.

I've got one ordered in Singapore, about £350 cheaper, hopefully I'll be able to pick it up at the end of the month.

Little bit worried about the talks of i7 throttling due to thermal issues. Hopefully won't effect my workload, as often I have need for "burst" rather than long duration at the moment.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Hell they charge like £50 more than Apple do for the jump in the Air.

Issue is, what is there that has a good i7 in the ultra low weight cat? Sony VAIO used to have some good ones, but that's stopped now, Samsung don't even make an i7 s9.

Not entirely sure of how conversion rates work over there but it might be worth looking into ASUS' ZenBook series, there are some that might be valid for your needs.

Re: News - Microsoft now shipping Intel Core i3 and i7 Surface Pro 3 variants

Got a Surface Pro 2 256GB and want to upgrade to a SP3. But I will wait until MS updates it with the Intel Broadwell chipset and CPU. Lovely kit at the mo, but in terms of playing games reports say the SP2 is on par with the SP3.

They are all dual core mobile chips, although the i5 and i7 are huperthreaded. The i5 in the SP3 throttles pretty bad though so I don't see much point shelling ou the extra for an i7 which will only heat up and throttle faster.
