I'm still using my rather aged MX518, there's time I've wanted more buttons but otherwise been a fantastic mouse with no problems in the slightest.
A RAT alternative for left-handed users?
Looks like a decent mouse but my issue with this and the RAT etc is that they look like they'll be a p.i.t.a to clean.
Does an off-centre cable adversely affect the 'centre of mouse' when you're moving around? I assumed one of the reasons for a central cable is that the tension is equally distributed whether you're moving left or right. If you put the cable somewhere else, isn't it going to drag more easily in one direction? Perhaps not significantly, but gamers will say that every little helps.
Actually with it being on the index finger, it may give you more precision? Just a guess. For example, use a fork and use each finger as the centre position and you'll find adapting to it slightly, but your index is most used to hand to eye coordination, I guess.
As for the mouse overall.. I don't quite get why these "hardcore" gaming mouses aren't designed to be as easy to clean as possible or with the least amount of cracks and corners - it's like the opposite, you'd think they'd get gamers to give suggestions.. I guess every gamer has ADD and can't handle a minimalistic gaming mouse, with as less cracks and slits possible..
Or something you can take off and wash very quickly..
