    I think this is the first I've heard of Xilence, but it can only be a good thing with be-quiet's parent company now owning them too.

    I felt it made sense on first read, meaning that we're not going to see the 90 per cent rating that is achieved by premium supplies. Made it clearer now, thanks.

    Of course, now that you point it out it makes sense - somehow it didn't occur to me that way when I originally read it. Thanks for making it clearer now though.

    if the only negative on these is the fan noise for the cost, can you replace with a silent fan from a 3rd party or would that affect the warranty?

    i've been using some EVGA 430 wt budget 80 plus psu for some cheaper end system recently and they are great.
