Having a mechanical keyboard on a Gaming laptop sounds awesome to me!
It'll definitely be better than Chiclet, that's for sure! Chiclets are great for every day use and saves space, but mechanical keys on a laptop? May be overkill, may be awesome.
One of the best design ideas they've had is to move the keyboard to the front edge of the laptop case, and not leaving it floating at the back near the monitor. That'll make the built in keyboard infinitely more useable on a flat surface.
