Ridiculous idea to put the radiators in a massive external housing, can't see anybody buying this instead of a larger case.

Thats a bit like saying I cant see anyone buying a AIO water cooler over a custom loop IMHO.

Very innovative for a niche product.

So if it's a closed loop, how do you get the tubing to run through the front of the chassis like that? Surely there wouldn't be room to feed the graphics cards through a drive bay??

Re: News - Gigabyte launches GeForce GTX 980 WaterForce Tri-SLI

really? whilst undoubtedly a tidy bit of gear, tri SLI with 4GB cards?

wouldn't you rather have SLI (double/triple) with 6GB/12GB cards - or crossfire with 8GB variants of the R9 290X?

seems odd to release this set up, at this (rumored) price (I bets it's more than 3000 USD) when it can't play Shadow of Mordor with ultra textures - do they think future titles will start using less VRAM?

Some form of quick release I would guess.

A 4 gig card cant play Shadow of Mordor with ultra textures??? That sounds like some poor optimizing to me more than not enough ram on cards.

Wonder if I can fudge up an Nvidia mounting bracket for my old Corsair H50?

Re: News - Gigabyte launches GeForce GTX 980 WaterForce Tri-SLI

At the end of the day though, this is just a 120MM rad for each card in what looks like a push pull.
    £500 for each card (£1500)

Even then buying a full custom loop for each card isn't going to run to a further 500 a card, would look better, take less space, be easier to maintain (you don't throw the whole setup or shell out for new blocks, rads and pump(s) if it dies) and clearly FAR cheaper. I don't see the market for this.

edit: that said, yes $3000 so... dunno what you guys west of the pond are paying for cards. Most stuff when it reaches the UK though tends to be "replace dollar sign with pound sign, there, price is sorted" despite the exchange rate.

Why wouldn't it? 4GB is a crapload of space for even uncompressed sillymegapixel textures, which of course wont be the case, they wont be sillymegapixel, and the textures will be compressed. Worse comes to the worst, the card may kick out unused textures back into RAM. Hardly the end of the world.
