Note that this is NOT a powered omnidirectional treadmill. It's a concentric powered unidirectional treadmill. It can apply force to move objects towards (or away) from the centre, but it cannot impart rotation to them. This means that the demonstrations where someone is running entirely on the powered portion (required to keep them away from the static centre portion) cannot respond to a sudden change in direction. If the user were to swerve to a 90° direction in that case, they would run off the edge of the treadmill as they would be running parallel to the roller's direction of rotation. If the rollers were sped up to attempt to prevent them exiting the powered area, the lateral acceleration would trip up the user. This is why current ODTs use bi-directional treadmill belts (in a flattened toroid arrangement) and rely on keeping the user as close as possible to stationary in the centre of the treadmill.

Hmmm, okay then. While a really good conecpt and all I just don't see this thing taking off any time soon. If they can make a version at about a tenth of the price then this will only be for the really wealthy.
I will stick with my keyboard thanks.
