Looking forward to the next game and if that screenshot is really in-engine than I want to know which PC is used for that.
I'd take more DE and Thief using the old engine. This is an added bonus.
I'll believe it when I play it. Human Revolution was fairly slick, but far less open and interactive than the original. If you'd played it 14 years ago, after you'd stopped being impressed by the graphics, you'd have been appalled at how regressive the actual game was. I think it's far more likely that they'll end up shackling the game to their dumbest play tester and the performance of the XBONE.
Feel like Human Revolution could have done a bit more with NVIDIA optimisation too, but then again all these stupid optimisations for certain cards have to be forced for sales. Blergh.
Hopefully will be as interesting as the Fox Engine,
but Unreal Engine 4 yo.
I hope they do better than Thief, played the demo on PS4 and it was sluggish, with a crab man Garret, bought the game briefly from amazon where it was not stated that it was Steam only on the DVD and returned it because I had a physical copy. Them game could not play on my AMD machine anyway so I was fortunate to return it quick. I have all the other titles in the series and the Dark project/ Metal Age had far better game mechanics along with the first Deux Ex. I no longer buy for the PC especially since all the publishers use steam, I have been made a mug of often enough with buying physical copies which I can return, DLC is not returnable.
Enjoyed all the previous Deus Ex games...including Invisible War. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with for the next game.
I really don't get why there is still all the hate for Steam - I used to be wary of it myself, but a couple of years ago, I decided to join the masses and start buying in the sales, and not looked back. I've bought about 40-odd games since then, all generally in the £1-£6 range, and I've saved myself a fortune. Downloading isn't much of an issue, and so long as you do a bit of research in the forums before hand, like making sure that there isn't double-DRM (i.e. like having to use both Steam and something else, like Uplay), there really isn't that much of an issue with it. Sure, you get the occasional Steam disconnect, but it is pretty rare, and there isn't any reason to worry about the Steam app being invasive, or 'spy-ware' because it isn't really. It is time to move on, and put old opinions in the closet. If you have any issues with full-priced brand new games, then the simple answer is: don't buy them, wait for a sale a few months down the line, when it won't matter much either way if a game doesn't live up to expectations.
@ Assassin = Each to their own, I am happy you have found a method that suits, one of mine was before the move to PS3/4 was to buy pre loved from CeX in the same price range - unfortunately Amazon sells DVD releases without warning of the need for steam or a live internet connection, I do not buy MMO either because of this, I bought Farcry, Crysis 1 & 2 and they only needed registration from the box, a far better product by far
Sony also wants you to buy DLC from the Playstation store which I refuse to do while physical copy is retailed. It is about consumer rights not my experience with steam which was full of crud because I had better things to do than fixing steam which was most of the time I used it.
