Zzzz... what, sorry, did you say something? TV's are smart?!?!?... zZzZzZz
We should buy LGs and Sonys and Panasonics to reduce Samsung dependency.
So another Linux variation.

Oh wait, so is android...sort of.
However, while android is built on open source aspects of the Linux kernel, bits of it are becoming closed source, so perhaps tizen makes sense for Samsung to break dependency on aspects of android.

Apart from one or two tv's pretty much all of Samsungs tv have run home grown software which then never gets updated and leaves the smart function even more useless than when it was useable (not much better lol).
It seems to make sense to use tizen over their home grown software, not that a consistent platform pulls in dev's or anything.... as that's their new little project which is going to spread over all their lines, it's just got to get developers interested. LG has webOS (looks good on the tv), Sony has it's playstation tv, and google has well a long list of things lol
Samsung comes out strong and then leaves you hanging as others update or fix. Very Sad!
