I will look forward to its appearance but hold little hope that it will topple the current cooling kings in it's first revision, especially as they have said it'll be aimed at mid level gaming systems - that just dashes my hopes for the moment !

Would be great to see one of these make it into the wild. I vaguely remember the last time someone said they were going to release one of these, must have been a couple of years ago - looked great as a prototype, but disappeared never to be seen again!

The way its built is top notch, even though I don't know the temps but I am very sure the heat will be very less compared to the traditional stock coolers with that amount of fins on a fan. And it would be nice if it can be applied on the GPU section but then again it is still early for that scale of a development. So give me the temps because if Cooler Master is there then it is very cool (i mean temps).

I don't understand anything from this tech, but if it can be small, quite and cool, that's all that matters to me.

I have spent a good amount of money to cut noise from my system and if I was not out of money I could invest in a silencio case too.
While gaming it is not important but I also do work in my computer and it is a blessing to have a silent system.

Aside that it could be great for HTPC as well, if it can be small and cool it can allow for some serious cpu/gpu in it to be a gaming machine as well.

Could be useful in my HTPC I am very limited on height, my A8-7600 isn't a monster to cool but if this could to it quietly and doesn't cost the earth I will give it a go.

I really like this cooler. The only issue I have is that it draws air from the center and expels it out of the side fins, which is surely going to heat up nearby components like memory. Maybe they could reverse it?

Was thinking of that as well. Not only can memory receive heat right at the first module air finds, but also for motherboards with heatsinks surrounding the CPU socket. Still, quite curious to see what'll come out of this tech, and if there will be beefy enough models that can outperform high-end aircooling units.

Hope this tech makes it to MSI and Gigabyte slim laptops, they really need lower db's when cooling their gpus

I'm intrigued as to what the cost per unit of these things will be, surely if the performance to size ratio has been increased upon standard coolers then HPC and industrial applications would be a good market for them. Primary concerns for data-centres and supercomputing being the cost of keeping them cool

Ah, thought I remembered this... the techs been around for three and a half years. It was originally developed by Sandia National Laboratories, aka the US DOD developer of non-nuclear components for nuclear weapons.

Pretty cool but will it work well? Can't wait to see reviews on the performance in terms of temp and noise for these. If it works well to a reasonably noise level and doesn't cost all too much to make then it'll help a lot in reducing the size of a general PC.

It has moving parts, of course it will have those issues over time. The question is, will the MTBF be higher or lower than a fan bearing or a water pump?
