    Finally... I am fed up with trying to use other sites, although Kickass was by far the closest match with the least amount of junk / spam.

    Note, I only use it to download Subbed Anime and manga that's not out in UK yet, And the odd US TV show. Nothing inherently illegal.

    Kickass is terrible IMO.

    The best thing about PirateBay being down was that I found my way onto a couple of invite-only sites. They do seem better, although lacking a lot of professional software for educational purposes
    Main PC: Asus Rampage IV Extreme / 3960X@4.5GHz / Antec H1200 Pro / 32GB DDR3-1866 Quad Channel / Sapphire Fury X / Areca 1680 / 850W EVGA SuperNOVA Gold 2 / Corsair 600T / 2x Dell 3007 / 4 x 250GB SSD + 2 x 80GB SSD / 4 x 1TB HDD (RAID 10) / Windows 10 Pro, Yosemite & Ubuntu
    HTPC: AsRock Z77 Pro 4 / 3770K@4.2GHz / 24GB / GTX 1080 / SST-LC20 / Antec TP-550 / Hisense 65k5510 4K TV / HTC Vive / 2 x 240GB SSD + 12TB HDD Space / Race Seat / Logitech G29 / Win 10 Pro
    HTPC2: Asus AM1I-A / 5150 / 4GB / Corsair Force 3 240GB / Silverstone SST-ML05B + ST30SF / Samsung UE60H6200 TV / Windows 10 Pro
    Spare/Loaner: Gigabyte EX58-UD5 / i950 / 12GB / HD7870 / Corsair 300R / Silverpower 700W modular
    NAS 1: HP N40L / 12GB ECC RAM / 2 x 3TB Arrays || NAS 2: Dell PowerEdge T110 II / 24GB ECC RAM / 2 x 3TB Hybrid arrays || Network:Buffalo WZR-1166DHP w/DD-WRT + HP ProCurve 1800-24G
    Laptop: Dell Precision 5510 Printer: HP CP1515n || Phone: Huawei P30 || Other: Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Pro 10.1 CM14 / Playstation 4 + G29 + 2TB Hybrid drive

    That's not the way the copyright enforcement goons see things, even if something never ever gets released in your country they still claim you're stealing, funding terrorists, drug dealers, or any other number of evil things.

    Never understood the piracy fund terrorism argument.
    I suppose if IS members were selling pirated DVD at a bootfair.
    But someone uploads a DVD screener and someone downloads it and no money changes hands, where does the terrorist funding come into it?
    Just the daily mail getting their knickers in a twist.

    Not so much the case these days, but back in the day when it was shady fellas selling bootlegged VHS/DVD from suitcases or market stalls, there was allegedly a strong link with drugs (being another shady means to make a nice wad of cash). And we know where some of those come from.

    IIRC they claim the advertising revenue from the sites is being used to fund them.

    Re: The Pirate Bay is back online following Swedish raid

    Piracy causes cancer, illegally obtaining a digital copy of a film causes global warming etc etc.

    I'm sure the Daily Fail did an article on it somewhere xD

    That would fall under organised crime for sure, but terrorism is a stretch. I've never heard of a substantial case where terrorists were caught selling DVDs to fund terrorism.

    Extraordinary claim. I'd like to see the extraordinary evidence to back it up.

    Re: The Pirate Bay is back online following Swedish raid

    Well there was an old article in the Guardian.
    Then there is a 2009 article in the Sydney Morning Herald.
    And a US Attorney General.
    A more recent claim from the LA Police.

    I see a lot of bare assertions in those articles, nothing in the way of evidence.

    Well that was kind of my point, i guess my original post didn't have enough of a sarcastic tone to it.
    Although it seems other people understood that the copyright goons make some rather fantastical claims.

    The symbol of our continued struggled against the out of touch Fat Cats.
    Has anyone come to the realisation that government the world over have a hard time coming to terms with whether going to war or not, internal crimes permitted and left barely giving a cursory glance and etc.. Yet for file sharing they are on their game.

    Just seeing how well they can co-ordinate for file sharing and yet are incompetent fools in all other matter time and time again. How do you deal with that when it comes close your countries election when they say you can trust in me.

    For the UK our General Elections are coming up and PM Cameron wants to mess up encryption as it makes the Gov't and Polices jobs harder to find the bad guys. 2 supporting sources.

    I'm curious what really stupid things have your guys political leaders promised to do if elected a few months before the election. Hopefully the Tech Savvy will not give him the vote.

    This one seems alright but further reading need - https://www.pirateparty.org.uk/

    Fun fact for those who did not know. Manchester, UK in 2012 was named the Piracy Capital of the country. Here's to a new year of being named Top Torrenting City.
