If they can find a way to lose the battery for the Surface Pro 4 pen, that'd be great. Otherwise stick a swappable rechargeable battery in, with some means to charge the pen (like a cradle).

Why, I've had my pen since launch, battery is just fine.

Whoops, late reply here, but coming from a battery-free Wacom background I feel it's a bit of a hassle having to buy batteries, carry spares around, swap them out and recharge them. I've got enough bits and pieces floating around in my room already.

Is the battery essential, I was under the impression that the main purpose of the battery was for the bluetooth connection to the button at the top of the pen which is used to launch OneNote by default, but I haven't tried to use the pen to write with no battery in it.
