It's a low priced GPU, but 2GB of memory does not seem to be enough for a user to take full advantage of the GTX960 core. Prefer to the 4GB product just released.
This product is aimed at 1080p gaming which it does very well with 2GB. If you are thinking of gaming at 1440p or above you should be stepping up to a 970 or 290 which DO come with 4GB.
The GTX960 really does poorly in Shadow of Mordor - the GTX760,R9 280 and R9 280X are all faster!!
Agreed. This certainly does appear to be memory limited...I would imagine a drop from Ultra Quality Preset would improve performance on all the 2GB cards - I think they're trying to get a 4GB quart of textures into 2GB pint pot.
Surely the issue is not performance but price?
If it was £140-150 everyone would be claiming this is the new messiah.
The 960 is a product (not unlike the AMD r9 285) which doesn't differentiate itself from other competing cards in the same market and price range: 280/285/280X all having +/-5% performance in most games. If it had 10% performance AT the same price point, it would have been an easy win.
really wonder how my `old` GTX 670 power edition would match up in those charts now
Have a look at the TechSpot review of the 960 for comparison
